Pearland’s Choice for Care
3 Types of Sedation
We offer all levels of sedation at our Pearland, Friendswood, and Silverlake offices. Choose from:
Nitrous Oxide: An inhalation sedation that’s administered through a nose mask to induce a feeling of relaxation until the mask is removed and the gas wears off.
Oral Conscious Sedation: A pill you take before your dental visit to keep you feeling calm, drowsy, and relaxed.
Intravenous (IV) Sedation: We bring in an anesthesiologist to administer sedatives directly to your bloodstream through an IV line.
Comforting Amenities
We offer additional amenities for a higher level of comfort and to deliver a superb dental experience. Our patients can block out the sounds of dental instruments with Bose® noise-cancelling headphones, wrap up in a warm blanket, watch something on our chairside TV, and enjoy a coffee or other refreshment.
“The sedation was phenomenal.”
Michelle needed an extensive amount of dental work because of her TMJ disorder and the damage it caused. With sedation, she says her appointment felt like taking a nap, and she didn’t feel a thing. If you need extensive dental work, a lengthy procedure, or something to calm your nerves, try sedation dentistry.

FAQ About Sedation Dentistry in Pearland, TX
Am I a candidate for sedation dentistry?
Most likely. If you’ve put off dental care and need extensive work, have a lengthy dental procedure ahead of you, have trouble sitting still for long periods, have sensitive teeth, or feel nervous about treatment, you could be a candidate. However, if you’re pregnant or have certain medical conditions, you may not be a candidate. Discuss this with your dentist during your consultation.
Can I drive myself to my appointment?
Laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is a light form of sedation that wears off quickly, so you can drive yourself to and from your appointment. Oral sedatives and IV sedation are deep sedation options that take a while to wear off, so you’ll need a friend or family member to drive you home after your appointment.
Will I be awake throughout treatment?
With oral conscious sedation or nitrous oxide, most patients stay awake enough that they can communicate with their dentist. With oral sedatives, you might not remember the experience. With IV sedation, you’ll be in a deep state of relaxation for your full treatment. You may even relax deep enough to fall asleep.
